I followed Ruth in school and had to overcome her reputation of not doing her homework. Although scholarly pursuits was not her thing she enjoyed school especially dramatics. She assumed a very Spanish accent in her role in a High School play as Josephina, a Mexican maid. We had our scraps as do most siblings. I remember rushing into the house on Dec. 7th, 1941 to get Mom to assist in our latest dispute only to be hushed by our parents as they listened to the terrible news about Pearl Harbor.
